Why No One is Renovating Airstreams / because its hard , time consuming, expensive.

Somebody fucked that Airstream up big time they stripped interner aluminum sheets off of it you shouldn't have bought it I have a 1960 Airstream is in better condition than yours

I live in a vintage Airstream but it's not because restoring them are easy but you have low IQ people that don't know nothing about construction or building and they stripped the inner metal out of the Airstream and then try to put it back together when you don't have to do that if you don't have leaks in your outer shell your Airstream you don't have to touch the inner skin of the Airstream at all so if they do they don't know what they're fucking doing and they should be at least not touching an Airstream the only thing you have to do is make sure the wood has been redone and the flooring is redone and the plumbing and the electrical

way I'd get that out would be take off the tired put it on dollys to wheel out.

Replace the wood with aluminum or hdpe plastic. Wood rots or helps for mold growth.

Am I the only one who saw the lug nuts go on backwards? The self centers were pointing out.

Towards the end there, you put the lugnuts on the wrong way. The pointy end is supposed to point to the inside of the vehicle.

Restoring a little trailer is easy. You are delusional and poorly skilled, if this little trailer is challenging to you. Go learn something. If you bit off more than you can chew, that's a personal problem.

If you do not already have the tools to do this type of work, you are definitely in over your head

Do a old air stream is not worth 50k it's worth its weight in scrap .

Airstreams are nearly allways worth repairing. The job would be much easier if you invested in a set of Clecos which are essentially temporary rivets that are placed or removed with a special pair of pliers. Having a hundred or more would greatly simplify aligning large panels with many holes. Clecos align and hold the metal panels, you put as many as you need to get panels to line up to old holes or temporarily hold a panel in place while creating new ones. 200 Clecos can be purchased for less than $200. There are many RUclips channels showing how to use them . virtually any auto Body custom shop or airplane airframe mechanic uses them.

New wheel bearings and a brake job would have been a hell of a lot less than a new $1500 axle! And the blocks you added have now created a great wek spot.

My take away-: you must be under 35 and very skilled. I once threw a balky Macintosh in a canal- this is too big to throw in. a canal., I'll make sure not to try this in my next lifetime.

So sad. I don't understand why people cheat. I'm a six-year-old man. Every relationship I ever had the person cheated on me and it's not because I didn't make enough money. And she decided this is back in a week when I got laid off that I didn't make enough money for her so she started cheating on me with an ex-boyfriend from high school. My relationship before her. My fiancé was cheating on me. And my ex-wife said I'd never do that to you. But you know what she did. I found out my ex fiancé cheated on her ex. Boyfriend and my ex-wife cheated on her ex-husband she was married before want to cheat or always a cheater and I don't know why what it is. Maybe it's the new relationship thing, the feelings they get like it was when you first started dating her or him. Is that what they're really only looking for is the first 3 or 4 months of the good feelings that you have the desires that you want them so bad. And has it becomes a relationship, it gets harder for them to really deal with a relationship so they go and cheat on you. I love my ex-wife and I love my ex. Fiancé. But I can never trust anybody anymore.The only thing I will do is have friends, friends with benefits.If you want to fall in love with me i'm gone cause you're just pretending

Wow this is impressively daft... Who spends 2k on tools before even starting? All you needed was some tin-snips and a manual rivet gun. That should have been 50 dollars.

The biggest issue here was building a van with no customers. I used to work with a conversion shop in CA, we built cool vans. Everyone was different. We had a shop van we put so much time and money into - late 2021 to 2023. As far as i know its still not sold. We went to custom on it. Made it an offgrid limo. Better to have your own personal van as sales piece. Building a whole new van with no customers lined up is a tough sale

So why didn't you check out and replace the axle while the body was off the frame?

At 38 I found out I had both meniscuses broken. I was in bad shape, no workout whatsoever, a bit chubby, could not run 1km without spitting my heart out. $1500 for a 3500 lb avle with trailer brakes is very expensive. The trailer and wheel supply places where I live only charge $375 in 2024. Super awesome that you are doing this project together. It will look and function awesome and be a great bonding experience.

I worked on RV roofs for awhile, and I'd still take the Airstream over most. Glorified cardboard boxes, and the newest ones are showing huge QC problems.
